Paddy
Rice Growth Regulators |

Growth regulators specially designed
for paddy rice developed by the Laboratory . Some of these regulators
were registered and widely used in Hunan and other rice producing
provinces. One of the rice growth regulator, named "Grainfull",
was awarded the provincial Science and Technology Advancement
Award in 1996. Field experiments showed an average yield increase
of 10%-30% over control for the application of "Grainfull". |

The Laboratory developed some
mixed herbicides after carefully investigated the structure of
the weeds population in local paddy rice fields and optimized
the recipe using central composite design and computerized optimization.
Being inexpensive and effective, these products were widely accepted
by the farmers. |

Growth Regulators |
|
Growth regulators developed by
the laboratory for the local citrus industry. These products can
minimized the damage of the seasonal dry wind at the stage of
fruit setting. Field experiments showed the application can increase
citrus yield by 15% to 30%. |

Physiological Abstracts Retrieving System (Computer software) |
|
Bioinfomatics software developed
by the laboratory and the Computer Center of Hunan Agricultural
University. The system has large scale data bases for a huge number
of abstracts accumulated by the laboratory and has the function
of adding records manually and automatically. It also has the
function of retrieving and adding abstracts from the text files.
It requires Windows environment and a minimum 4x86 CPU, 16MB RAM
and 15MB disk space. |

Optimization System(Computer software) |

Bioinfomatics software developed
by the laboratory and the Computer Center of Hunan Agricultural
University. The system was an essential tool for those scientists
dealing with some bio-optimization related problems. It was developed
based on the Gray-System theory and the response surface
technology. It requires Windows environment and a minimum 4x86
CPU, 16MB RAM and 10MB disk space. |
