Prospectus for Degrees in Plant Sciences

Degree Programs

Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Phytohormones, also a laboratory at Hunan Agricultural University,offers Degrees of  Mater of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Sciences.

 

Eligibility

To qualify for admission for a Master's Degree program,  students need to have

  • a Bachelor's degree with a satisfactory completion of the degree qualifying courses including a thesis
  • a satisfactory record of admission tests (English, Philosophy and 2-3 courses closely related to plant sciences, usually botany, plant physiology and chemistry )

To qualify for admission for a Ph. D. program,  students need to have

  • a Master's (or similar) degree with a satisfactory completion of the degree qualifying course including a thesis or dissertation.
  • 2 or more reference letters from scholars holding an associate professor or higher/similar) academic positions
  • a satisfactory record of admission tests (English and 2 courses based on future research area )

Enrolment period

The degree of Master of science will normally require 3 years of  full time study. The degree of Ph.D. will normally require 3 to 4 years of full-time study and no longer than 5  years for part-time candidates.
